XYZjava demonstration
These objects demonstrate a java based implementation of some 3D objects that are
calcucated real-time. Patrick Fromont, a French intern at our department, converted
a part of the C code of XYZ-360° to java in spring 1997.
The goal of the project was to find out if java is an appropriate
programming language for 3D viewing in this kind of volume visualization.
You can make your own conclusions by trying this demo.
An example of Patrick's final implementation is also available.
The applets that you see running at the current page have been developed further by me.
Instructions: click on the object that you wish to rotate. Use the control panel.
The window is optimally sized when you see three applets in a row.
If you lost your control panel, press the reload button in your browser.
