I am an interaction designer and a computer scientist with a PhD in interactive technology from University of Tampere. My main field of experitice is human computer interaction (HCI) supported by a strong knowledge of programming graphical user interfaces (GUI). I work currently for Idean as a senior interaction designer.

I completed my PhD degree December 2005. The PhD work concerns enhancing the Web search user interafaces and is titled: "Enhancing Web Search Result Access with Automatic Categorization". The approach is to use a new automatic categoriziation method of the result items and provide the users with a filtering user interface to make finding the relevant results easier and faster. Results of the studies indicate that the proposed solution is successful.

Along with user interfaces, software development is a part big of my interests as well as my work. Other than computer science, I'm interested in photography, downhill skiing and wood and metal work. I have also studied vehicle restoration.
