Open Source and Quality
Abstract
Radical changes are taking place in the development of software intensive systems. First, software is developed in collaboration with companies and open
source communities.
Second, the resulted systems are service oriented, i.e. they provide services for end-users by using heterogeneous networked systems as service infrastructure. Third, end-user services are composed dynamically according to the context and preferences of the user. The main question is: "How could we guarantee high quality of services if we do not have total control of quality during design time, delivery time, or run time?". The presentation will deal with the previous question from the following different viewpoints: initiation of an open source community, exploitation of open source in software services, architecture modelling and open source and quality assessment. |
