- 13.6.2005: Markku's Ph.D. thesis has been awarded as the best computer science doctoral thesis in Finland in 2004 by the Finnish Information Processing Association on the recommendation of the Finnish Society for Computer Science.

- 13.6.2005: Paper entitled "Hajautettujen puhejärjestelmien dialoginhallintamenetelmät" (Distributed Dialogue Management Techniques) by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Perttu Prusi, Anssi Kainulainen, and Leena Helin was presented in "Tietojenkäsittelytieteen päivät 2005" (the annual computer science event).
