New Interaction Techniques

Fall 2010

Announcements | Course description | Exam | Materials | References

The exam will take place on December 14th, 2010 from 4 pm to 8 pm. You must register in advance for the exam through the normal exam sign-up system. There will be two make-up exams in the spring (13.1.2011 and 17.2.2011) in case you cannot take the exam in December or if you don't pass it.

The rules of the language used in giving your answers have been tightened. If you study in a master's program given in Finnish (e.g., Vuorovaikutteisen teknologian maisteriohjelma or Käyttöliittymien ohjelmistokehityksen maisteriohjelma), you MUST write your answer in Finnish. Similarly, if you study in a master's program given in English (e.g., Master's program in Interactive Technology or Master's program in User Interface Software Development), you must write your answers in English. Consequently, all international students will use English, and most Finnish students will use Finnish -- but there are a few exceptions to the latter. So be sure that you know yourself which Master's program you have chosen.

The exam will be a closed book exam, meaning that you cannot have any material with you. For answering the questions in the exam, it is required that you have studied and understood (a) the material that has been discussed in class, and (b) original articles, to be listed below. For part (a), it is sufficient that you know the material to the extent that was discussed in class. However, if you want to find out more about a specific topic, the slides contain links to further information or pointers to original publications. The actual publications will be linked from the References page.
