Volunteer for an eye tracking related experiment!
Want to be part of the future of human-computer interaction?
Want to help to develop gaze controlled interfaces?
Volunteer as a testee for an eye tracking experiment!
We have developed several eye-aware applications that work almost like magic: the eye tracking device follows your gaze path and the computer "knows" where you look at. We always need new volunteers who are willing to be participants in our experiments.
Eye typing experiments
The eye typing experiment should be easy (and fun)! You don't have to do a lot; you only need to look at the letters on the screen. The computer "knows" where you look at and types the letter you are looking at. You can read more about eye typing on our eye typing page.
If you are interested in trying eye typing, please
email your contact information to Päivi Majaranta: curly@cs.uta.fi.
Reading experiments
We have also developed an application that helps in reading foreign text. You read the text; the eye tracking device follows you gaze path. As soon as your gaze hesitates because encountered a difficult word or a phrase, the iDict application jumps in and provides help. More information about the reading aid can be found at iEye project pages.
If you are interested in experiments with iDict, please
email your contact information to Aulikki Hyrskykari: ah@cs.uta.fi.
If you have leaved your contact information, we will contact you when the experiment starts.
Experiments are done in TAUCHI research unit's premises (Pinninkatu 53 B) in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Tampere, Finland. Please note, that some of the experiments require that you speak Finnish (read this announcement in Finnish).
PS. You can find information and photos of our eye tracking devices from the Equipment page
