The M.Sc. programmes in the School of Information Sciences/Computer Sciences serve a dual purpose. Firstly, local students continue their studies in a M.Sc. program after their B.Sc. studies. Secondly, students from other institutions can enter the programmes after they have received their Bachelor's degree.
The official information on the structure of the programs and the formal requirements for entry and completion of the degrees are in the Study Guide. Please see info on studies, study guides and graduation on the Faculty of Information Sciences web pages. The pages listed below aim to complement this information with more practical and up-to-date information. Check also the Thesis page for info on M.Sc. Thesis process and writing.
There are two major subjects in Computer Sciences: Computer Science and Interactive Technology. There is some overlap between these major subjects. Furthermore, for a professional in the area of one of these major subjects should know something of the other. Because of this, some courses are the same for both majors. Teaching in English is given in one M.Sc. programme in Computer Science and in two programmes in Interactive Technology. For a list of the M.Sc. programs taught in Finnish, see the Finnish pages.
